The need for clean air in our homes should not be underestimated. Most people spend an average of 90% of their time indoors and our homes contain many substances, particularly mold, that may be hazardous to our health. It is important to be aware of how air contaminants can affect our health and to adopt corrective measures that will improve indoor air quality in our homes.
The objective of a residential indoor air quality investigation using the CMHC IAQ Investigative Protocol are to determine if there is an indoor air quality problem; to identify the causes; and to recommend solutions. The ultimate goal is to advise the homeowner on the actions that should be taken to improve the air quality of their home. |
